„close to home“ is a photo-series created on the outskirts of the Rio de Plata, by Uruguayan Paloma Oribe.
Connected to Origin: that is the feeling that Paloma Oribe’s photographs are meant to convey.
Because all the leather and lambskins used by WERNER CHRIST in its products are tanned and dyed in the company’s own tannery in Uruguay and have been since 1983. That is when the Christ family decided to establish its own tannery in San José with the aim of guaranteeing the best quality standards and producing in an environmentally friendly way. A modern wastewater treatment plant is connected to the tannery, which was awarded the ECOL2 footprint again just last year. Part of the Christ family still lives in Uruguay and is responsible for the production processes there. Thus, even today, the entire value chain is in the hands of the company.
