It is always a sustainable secondary product, because only skins that have been created through the primary production of valuable foodstuffs are processed at WERNER CHRIST.

Our Types of Shearling
IN EVERY FORM
Lambskin is a natural material with a unique texture - where the fine wool is left on the leather. Depending on the type of fur, shearing and processing, very different looks are created: from short-sheared to long-pile, curly, wavy or smooth. Each texture has its own look and feel.
The reverse side - i.e. the leather side - is given a velour or nappa finish depending on the desired surface. This combination of structured wool side and refined leather not only ensures a high-quality look, but also excellent warmth properties, breathability and durability.

FINEST LEATHERS
Leather is more than just a material - it is the basis of our collections and an expression of true craftsmanship. The texture, structure and feel of leather vary depending on the species and age. At WERNER CHRIST, we only use the highest quality leathers, carefully selected by our experienced leather technicians around the world - with a trained eye for quality, origin and character.
In a special finishing process, the leather is treated in such a way that it can unfold its natural beauty. In contrast to shearling, the wool is removed in order to obtain pure leather qualities such as nappa leather, suede and other exclusive in-house developments from our own tannery. Each type of leather is characterised by its own unique look, individual feel and excellent suitability for jackets, coats and accessories.
Whether soft and supple or velvety and robust - our leather stands for long-lasting elegance, natural authenticity and uncompromising quality.
PROPERTIES
All of our products are produced in our in-house tannery. This enables us to guarantee that all our lambskins and leathers have the following properties.
WIND RESISTANT
All lambskin and leather jackets from WERNER CHRIST are windproof - cold wind is effectively kept out. This provides additional protection against the cold and helps you feel pleasantly warm in any weather.
BREATHABLE
Leather and lambskin are breathable and regulate the temperature perfectly. They absorb body moisture and channel it to the outside - while at the same time protecting against moisture from the outside. This creates a consistently pleasant skin climate.
LIGHTFASTNESS
Our colours pass stringent lightfastness tests and retain their luminosity for years. Only high-quality, RAL-compliant dyes are used in our tannery - they are particularly resistant to sunlight.
C3 IMPREGNATION
Our patented C3 impregnation effectively protects against moisture and dirt without changing the natural properties of the material. The result: easy-care, durable models that are immediately ready for use and particularly hard-wearing.
SUSTAINABLE
We have been manufacturing our products ourselves for over 30 years - in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. Our tannery uses green electricity, a sewage treatment plant and our own eucalyptus forest. We have received several awards for our energy efficiency.
